    Guarantee

Eastman’s Clockworks asks Members to describe the condition of the items up for auction as accurately as possible, and to provide pictures detailing the overall clock or watch appearance (including close-ups of dial/hands, glasses, movement, label or other identifying marks). Eastman’s Clockworks will guarantee that each item is as described. If you want additional information on the item condition or want to request more pictures from a Member, please contact us! If you receive any item that was inaccurately described we will ensure you are provided with a prompt refund of your bid (excluding shipping costs) if the selling Member and Eastman's Clockworks are notified within 7 days of your receiving the clock or watch.

If the item is described as being in running condition, that means that the item appears to be running at the time the seller places the item up for sale. Unless specifically stated in the item description, this may not mean that the item has been recently serviced or is accurately keeping time. Most antique timepieces should be inspected and/or serviced by an experienced clock/watch maker to help ensure long-term serviceability.

    Shipping Insurance

Our Members pack their clocks and watches carefully to minimize the risk of damage during delivery. However, we acknowledge that no matter how carefully your item is packaged, damage can occur during the shipping process. We ask our Members to add insurance to the cost of shipping as added protection for the auction winner. Any damage claims are the responsibility of the auction winner.

    Selling

Eastman’s Clockworks offers a very simple and easily understood fee structure - a seller's fee of 4.5% is assessed based on the final winning bid for each item sold in an Eastman’s Clockworks auction.

Members may list an unlimited number of vintage and antique timepieces in the Eastman's Clockworks auctions. Members will not be charged a fee for clocks that do not sell at auction, and may keep an unsold listing active for as long as desired.

Eastman’s Clockworks does not charge extra fees for posting extra images per listing, additional fees for formatting your listing, or any of the other myriad of charges some of the larger online auction houses apply.

    Fees

Membership is free. Bidding is free. Listing your own items in our Silent Auctions is free. The only fees assessed are associated with selling an item in our auctions - a 4.5% seller's fee based on the amount of the winning bid.

    Advertising

Currently, we promote our site on over 3,000 internet search engines (including Google, AOL, Excite, etc.), advertise routinely on the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors (NAWCC) MART, and provide updates to our own growing email Updates list every few weeks. I also personally attend the NAWCC National Meeting and several NAWCC regional meetings to actively promote our auction site.
