vintage and antique clocks and watches.

Featured Auction on Eastman's Clockworks!

Forrestville Mfg. Co. carved half-column and splat, ca. 1835. Pineapple capitals, with carved fruit bowl splat and paw feet. Wooden finials are likely replacements. The ivory/bone escutcheon is detached but included. Wooden dial has significant expansion cracks and may not be original to the case. Bottom reverse-painted tablet is old, but may be a replacement. Very good original paper label. 30-hour wood works, weight-driven bell-strike movement is not currently running. Case measures 31" x 16" x 5". This is a very nice early American clock in overall good condition. Estimated value is $700 to $1,200.

July 15, 2006 Update

Hello to all!

We now have 31 timepieces listed in our continuous auction. Click on the Up For Auction link for more details.  The following timepieces have been added since the last Update:

  • New! Birge & Fuller, Bristol, Conn., applied half-column and cornice shelf clock, ca. 1850
  • New! Gilbert Mfg. Co. mahogany steeple clock with alarm, ca. 1860
  • New! Forrestville Mfg. Co. carved half-column and splat, ca. 1835

Here are the auction rules on Eastman's Clockworks:

  • Sellers set a "silent" reserve that is unknown to bidders
  • There are no pre-set auction durations – items will remain posted indefinitely until removed by seller or sold
  • All bids received will be internally screened against the seller’s reserve
  • Seller will be notified of reasonable bids and can choose to accept a lower bid than the reserve
  • If bid is above the minimum reserve set by the seller or the seller accepts a lower bid, the item is placed in a 10-day “Open Auction” status where additional bids are accepted
  • Highest bid and days remaining will be posted on the item during the Open Auction period (updated once daily during the 10-day period)
  • Bidder who initiated the Open Auction status will be given the opportunity to place final bid if other higher bids were received in the Open Auction period
  • At end of the 10-day period, high bid wins
